« Make organic wine more accessible »
The style of Château Morillon’s organic wines
Vinification
We produce wines made up with the growing of our own grapes. Our 20 hectares of vines are planted in the small village of campugnan, to the North of Bordeaux region. 10 hectares meet the specifications of the AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation and the rest corresponds to the regional appellation of Bordeaux.
All our cuvées go through a pre-fermentation cold maceration, always aiming to bring the most freshness to the wines.
The fermentations are done only with the natural yeasts from our terroir. Then, our juices have a four-week maceration in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. Finally, our wines are aged in oak barrels and also stainless steel tanks.
Distribution
As we are committed to our values of sharing and of making organic wine more accessible, we have always delivered our wine in speciliazed organic shops (like Biocoop, Vie Claire).
We also deliver our wine in some supermarkets, but only in lower quantities and mainly in local supermarkets, because it is very important for us to get ourselves known in our area.
We produce between 120 000 and 140 000 bottles a year, and only red and rosé wine. Our wines are certified by Ecocert France.

Le futur du château
Thanks to Jean Marie’s impetus, and with Emma taking over the property, the team of Château Morillon wishes to create more personal wines, quite different from the classical Bordeaux wines.
